Last week I went to a writing workshop and this came out when I was prompted to begin with “I love my body when…”
I love my body when
it is entangled with yours
elevated
as if I had worked out
this morning, too.

The blissful babble of
this winter stream
makes for a warm heart
on a cold day,
a granny
waving from her woodsy cottage
along a forest way.
She bends your ear
over a bowl of hot soup.
Tell her about your day.
She is river.
She is love.
There is no fear in water.
There is no hate in blood.
"Come again" she says
as you turn and walk away.
"I'll always be right here.
You know you are welcome to stay."

cancer
school shootings
our culture is toxic
look what
we've done with
our rational logic
monsters
created
by systems psychotic
where
do we turn to
in times so atomic?
